Company establishment and Work-Residence Permit
Establishing a Company in Serbia

Establishing a company in Serbia is the first and most important step for investing in the country. The key decisions you need to make is choosing the type of company. As in other European countries, we recommend initially setting up a limited liability company (D.O.O – Društvo sa ograničenom odgovornošću).
What Does a Limited Liability Company Mean in Serbia?
The Serbian term “Društvo sa Ograničenom Odgovornošću (DOO)” corresponds to Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi in Turkish. This type of companies are particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises. According to the Serbian Company Law, shareholders of a DOO are responsible for all profits and liabilities of the company, limited to their shareholding.

Residence and Work Permit in Serbia
Citizens of the Republic of Turkey have the right to stay in Serbia for 90 days without a visa within 180 days after entering Serbia. In order to continue to stay in Serbia after this period, they must first obtain a residence permit. The fastest and easiest way to do this is to apply for a DOO before your 90-day visa-free stay in Serbia ends.
After opening your own company as a DOO, you will first need to apply for a residence permit. After getting your appointment date from the Foreigners branch, you must prepare all your documents and submit them on the specified date. Afterwards, you can obtain your residence permit on the date given to you after submitting your documents.
Once you receive your residence permit, you can complete the necessary steps to apply for a work permit one week later, finalizing the process.
